Modules¶
Every module in the sidebar opens to the same kind of page, a name and description, a learning objectives toggle, progress indicators, and its content grouped into numbered Parts. What's inside those Parts depends on whether the module has been built out yet.
Anatomy of a module page¶
- Header - the module's name and a short description of what it covers
- Show/Hide learning objectives - a toggle that expands to the specific things you should be able to do after finishing the module
- Progress - three indicators: remaining video runtime, remaining reading runtime, and how many quizzes are left
- Parts - numbered, themed groups of lessons; each lesson shows a type (
Video,Reading,Document,Discussion, orLive) and a duration
History: a completed module¶
History is the first module and, so far, the one with a full set of lessons across multiple Parts, see the main interface screenshot for it in context. Its first Part alone runs Why we needed computation (Video, 6 min), The abacus and mechanical aids (Video, 8 min), an Abacus reference sheet (Document, 5 min), a From Babbage to Turing reading (12 min), a discussion prompt, and a recap video, with a second Part continuing into ENIAC and early electronics and a live Q&A session.
Most other modules: coming soon¶
The rest of the module list, Foundations, Math, Core, Python, Mechanics, Protocols, Qiskit, Algorithms, Hardware, QEC, Applications, Future, currently shows a shorter introductory version of the same page layout while the full lessons are being added:
- A banner: "Detailed content for
<module>is coming soon. This module is part of the QCAP track and will be available shortly." - The same three general learning objectives on every one of these modules: build foundational intuition for it, connect it to the broader QCAP curriculum, and prepare for hands-on practice in upcoming modules
- A single Part 1 - Overview, with one reading,
Introduction to <module>(8 min), and sometimes a quiz (Math's Part 1 also has aQuiz: Mathitem, Foundations' doesn't)
So progress on one of these modules reads as 0m of videos left, 8m of readings left, and either 0 quizzes left or 1 quiz left depending on whether that module has its quiz yet.
